(NewsCore) – Jennifer Aniston says she sees a future in which she is “barefoot and pregnant” — and not keen on adopting a child from a foreign country — according to excerpts from an interview released Wednesday.
“I think people honestly just want to see me as a mom and married and barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen,” the US actress said in the interview with People magazine, out Friday.
“And I just want to say, ‘Everybody, relax! It’s going to happen.’ I’ll be singing from the mountaintop.
“Let me have the moment where I get to say, ‘yes, in fact, I’m having a baby.’ As opposed to adopting from Mexico.”
Some commentators saw the remarks as a veiled swipe at actress Angelina Jolie, the partner of Aniston’s ex-husband Brad Pitt.
Pitt and Jolie have three adopted children — Maddox, 10, Pax Thien, seven, and Zahara, six, from Cambodia, Vietnam and Ethiopia respectively.
The couple also have three biological children — Shiloh, four, and twins Knox and Vivienne, two.
Aniston, who turns 42 on Friday, said in the interview that she has not ruled out becoming a single parent.
“I’m not against doing it on my own, if it really led to that place. I just don’t think that’s going to be the case,” she said.
But the rom-com regular also confessed that she hasn’t dated anyone in a year and a half.
“I’m really picky,” Aniston admitted.
